The real cost of social media

Measuring the real cost of social media is a struggle for organisations looking to exploit the benefits of social media. Although the majority of social networks are free to use, the real cost is often in the management time of employees responsible for creating content and monitoring the brand within the social space.

This infographic estimates the total cost of an annual social media campaign at $210,600, when you take into the account the cost of building apps and mico-sites to support the strategy and employees costs for a community manager and social media strategist.

In a US survey by eMarketers Marketing Executives 85.4% of respondents charted customer engagement as one of the main benefits of social media.

The use of a black background and simply graphic devices make this a professional looking infographic and defiantly one that you would be proud to show to your boss when trying to justify that next wave of social media investment!
