An adhesive is a substance used to stick or bond objects, items, parts, materials etc. Aerospace adhesives are interchangeably used for glue, fixative, cement, binder, etc., and are used to assemble dissimilar materials of heavy weights, without screws, bolts, nuts, etc. Choice of adhesives is more important than design and composite materials alone. Aerospace adhesives help improve uniform distribution of stresses and strains across bonded joints. It also helps strengthen and integrate parts of aircrafts by leaving no holes, rivets, or fastening elements to weaken the structure.
